Luca D’Alberto
is a composer, producer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist.
He graduated with honors and a ministerial mention in viola and violin, later attending renowned academies. With a strong classical background, D’Alberto embraced electronic instrumentation to enhance the expressive power of acoustic instruments like the piano and strings.
Characterized by an empathic and dynamic personality, Luca D’Alberto naturally gravitates towards creating networks and collaborations. His talent has been recognized and valued by esteemed international directors, dance companies, and major brands since his early international endeavors. Noteworthy mentions include Wim and Donata Wenders, Bob Wilson, Peter Lindbergh, and the Danish film production company Zentropa Entertainments, established and managed by Lars Von Trier.
He has collaborated as a composer and performer with prestigious entities such as Tanztheater Wuppertal “Pina Bausch,” Italian film and theater directors Michele Placido and Costanza Quatriglio, and international directors Peter Greenaway and Saskia Boddeke. For them, he composed music for various world-traveling installations, including “Obedience” at the Jewish Museum in Berlin and “Chtchoukine, Matisse, la Danse et la Musique” at the Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris.
D’Alberto has also contributed to some of the most notable advertisements in recent years for esteemed brands like Apple, Lancôme, National Lottery UK, Scottish Widows, and even Wimbledon, which chose Maestro D’Alberto’s music as the official anthem for the 2017 event. His work extends to collaborations with CBS, RAI, NETFLIX, AMAZON, and VICE for TV series, films, and trailers.
With over 30 million streams, D’Alberto’s compositions rank among the most listened to in the Modern-Classical/Cinematic music scene. Starting in 2024, Luca D’Alberto will join UNIVERSAL/Decca Records, marking the beginning of this collaboration with the release of his new album “In Our Hearts” featuring two prominent international guests: Tom Smith, founder and lead singer of the British band Editors, and renowned French singer and actress Soko.
Currently, D’Alberto is working on the soundtrack for an upcoming film written and directed by Peter Greenaway (Saskia Boddeke, collaborator of the director), titled “Lucca Mortis” (working title), featuring Oscar-winning actors Dustin Hoffman and Helen Hunt, as well as actress Sofia Boutella. The film is produced by Facing East, known for works like “The Revenant”, “Cloud Atlas” and “Assassin’s Creed”, among others, one of Hollywood’s leading film production companies.
